State Correlation Predictor Targets

State Correlation Predictor Targets provide for student performance on AIMSweb Benchmarks to be used to help predict if students are likely to pass or fail the State’s accountability test. Two methods, State Test Success Probability (National) and State Test At-Risk Screener (State), will be used in which students may be compared against national median data or state normative data.

State Test Success Probability (National) and State Test At-Risk Screener (State) options are added to specified report filters. When applied, the selected method will overlay additional graphics on current reports that will denote the student’s probability of success or probability of risk when taking a state assessment.

Reports that include State Test Success Probability (National) and State Test At-Risk Screener (State) functionality are:

Assessments predicting success or risk for state tests are:

State Test Success Probability (National)

State Test Success Probability (National) method means that a student’s scores from R-CBM and/or MCAP will be compared against results from correlation studies using national median data to predict the student’s probability of success on standardized state assessments. State Test Success Probability (National) provides targets based on national median values for 80% probability of passing state tests and for 50% probability of passing state tests in order to form three ranges; high likelihood of success, medium likelihood of success, and low likelihood of success. Success Probability will be read as values above the lines on reports.

State Test At-Risk Screener (State)

State Test At-Risk Screener (State) method means that a student’s scores from R-CBM and/or MCAP will be compared against results from correlation studies using data from multiple states to predict the student’s probability of risk on standardized state assessments. State Test At-Risk Screener (State) is based on State scores for the applicable State and will show students with an 80% risk and students with a 50% risk of not passing the applicable State test. At-Risk probability is read as values below the lines displayed on the reports. State data used for comparisons are determined by your account location (State address).

Outside of the U.S.

State Test Success Probability (National) and State Test At-Risk Screener (State) are designed in a fashion that will allow for the expansion into non-U.S. locations, but currently are only supported in the U.S. Please contact your sales professional to implement this functionality in other countries.

Generating the Reports

State-test targets may be included in grade, class, or individual reports.

Scores and Percentiles Report

To generate the Scores and Percentiles report with state-test targets, follow these steps.

  1. From the My Classes tab, select R-CBM or M-CAP as the desired measure. The Scores and Percentiles report icon will display as the second icon in the list of reports at Class level.

Note: To generate the grade-level Scores and Percentiles report, select the grade from the corresponding drop down on the Reports tab. Then, click Go to open the Grade side tab. Grade-level reports are not available for Teacher users.

  2. Click the Scores and Percentiles icon to open the report.

  3. Click Expand next to Report Options to select whether or not to show the State Test Correlation on the report. The target options are: Show State Test Success Probability (National) or Show State Test At-Risk Screener (State-Specific).

Individual Student Report

To generate the Individual Student report with state-test targets, follow these steps.

  1. From the My Classes tab, select R-CBM or M-CAP as the desired measure.
